The family would like to thank CHH Home Care Medicine and St. Mary’s Home Health and all of their staff that cared for their mother. Along with a neice, several nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Survivors include his beloved wife of nearly 50 years Virginia Jenny McGown Nelson; three sons and daughters-in-law Darron Andrew Nelson (Kathy), Brad William Nelson (Julie) and Evan Lewis Nelson (Kyla); four grandchildren Andrea Riley Nelson, Garrett Cole Nelson, Parker Lewis Nelson and Piper Renee Nelson and four special care givers Sherman McGown, II, Burman Allen Nelson, Tanner Adkins and Sarah Jude. Ted spent many terms as a councilman for the City of Kenova and was a tireless worker devoted to the best interests of the city. Known for discovering the Alpha Helix, a common protein structure, Dr. Herman Branson was a pioneer in biophysics. Moose is survived by 3 children: Tiffany Butler and Anthony Butler (Miranda) of Catlettsburg, and Logan Weaver, of Gastonia, North Carolina, also 7 grandchildren: Kyleigh Butler, Bryson Butler, Jaedyn White, Gavyne White, and Gage Butler, of Catlettsburg, and Rhylen Weaver and Annistyn Weaver, of Gastonia, North Carolina.
